Homeowners keep asking why a new sewer line connection is so involved. The answer is simple. Miami Dade county, City of Miami Beach and the majority of the cities in Dade county require a permit. The scope of work is not limited to the new line.
The contractor will need to close off a portion of the roadway when installing a new sewer line because the main truck line is typically located in the center of the road. The homeowner is paying for engineering design, permitting, restoration services, testing, survey work and closing out the permit. Pictures shown below are new sewer lines installed in Miami.
